About Douglas Oil Company

Douglas Oil Company was founded in 1927 by Giovani and Vincenza Quattrocchi the parents of now retired president Rocco A. Quattrocchi. In the beginning Giovanni worked the 3rd sift at the Wanskuck mills and along with his two older sons (Allie and John) and his two older daughters (Betty and Minnie) worked days at the oil company. Vincenza handled all the financial transactions. They sold coal, wood, and kerosene at first then later expanded to retail gasoline and both retail and bulk heating oil.

Douglas Oil Company (named because of it's location on Douglas ave) was incorporated in 1934. At that time the other family members (Martha, Anna, Josephine, and Rocco) also begun to perform various duties. In the year 1955 Rocco A. Quattrocchi became sole owner of the corporation and he and his wife Dolores embarked on increasing the retail side. Today Douglas Oil Company and its affiliates serve over 3,600 retail customers. Rocco and Dolores Quattrocchi retired in 1992 and although they still perform menial duties running the business, now is their son Joseph Quattrocchi along with his wife Barbara Quattrocchi and their two sons Rocco and Joseph continue this family tradition presently going into it's forth generation.
